The Spok-9 Flyers was the first Eastern Washington team to:
- Come home from our first weekend tournament
with our entire team attaining Flyball Dog Champion Titles.
- Have an ongoing Web site so classy and widely
viewed that again last weekend another team told us that our site is the
best on the Web.
- Have stats so detailed that one can spend many
late night hours scouring the information looking for ways to improve
our times.
- Have videotapes of every tournament we have
entered.
- Continue as a team entering 26 tournaments to
date.
- Lead the way for 2 new teams. I love watching the
Hauling Hot Dogs and the It’s a Miracle teams. They are fast and
reliable.
- Combine with the Hauling Hot Dogs to receive so
many Flyball titles at last years SDTC Awards Ceremony that it lasted an
additional hour.
- Receive respect from our competitors in the NAFA
Regional standings.
- Receive mini workshops from the “pro’s” that
helped us place first in many tournaments.
- Achieve titles in both NAFA and U-FLI. All of our
Team members have achieved NAFA Titles up to: FD; FDX; FDCH;
FDCHS; FDCHG; FM and FMX. And TFI, TFII and TFIII Titles in U-FLI.
I am sure the titles will continue to grow.
- Have handlers interested enough in our Sport that
they travel in excess of 600 miles to attend each tournament.
In addition to our team accomplishments, I have
lasting memories about each of you.
- Eddi –Steady Eddi. You have earned your
nickname. You lead our team with outstanding starts, great run times and
always give us all you have. You are the Golden Girl on our team.
- Lacey – Miss reliability. You run
flawlessly and have endured several of my “early passes” without ever
leaving the course. It’s you we all thank for introducing us to this
sport. Without your past experience it is unlikely that the Spok-9
Flyers would have ever teamed up and attended tournaments. We all offer
a big thank you.
- Buster – Mr. Heart. I always wonder where
you get your drive and energy. It was obvious from the beginning that
you are all heart with four legs.
- Scrappy – Mr. Schnaz. You have carried the
load as our height dog this year. It’s a big job and you give it your
all. Good job!!
- Pandy – My Sister. While you and I are
often a little too competitive, I will always respect your athleticism.
As anchor you have pulled out more wins for our team than even I can
remember.
- Sweet William – Veteran Bill. You have
always been my mentor. I know, you were competing before I was born. I
still adore your long legs, sturdy face, mild personality, fast times
and your @#$$%^& &^^%$. I remain yours.
- Puma – The Black Locomotive. You run hard,
reliable and remain a true gentleman. You are like a big black teddy
bear with a loving desire to please.
- Franny – Flyball Franny. After only four
tournaments you have achieved Flyball Dog Champion status and Flyer
status. I wish you well and a prosperous future.
- Jazz – Even though you only attended two
tournaments you achieved Flyball Dog Champion status. Thanks for helping
us become The Flyers.
In closing, I know that any success that I have
enjoyed has been the direct result of your efforts. Successful Flyball is
the combined effort of each team member.
Thank each of you for your 110% efforts.
I am honored to have been a Flyer with all of you.
