Dear friends,

As I rode home last night I received several Dog-to-Dog messages from my teammates. I have reduced to writing and am sending to you for your enjoyment.  These include actual observations of actions we saw, things we heard or thought and obvious expressions observed on the faces of your Mom or Dad. You know the perceptive abilities of Canines are well beyond those of the mere mortals who care for us.  So it is likely that we will have a different perspective of the event.

I decided to name the owner of the thought or action to assure that we could identify the owner and enjoy the message.

If your folks find any of these offensive, just deny any knowledge and blame me –Maggie.

  • “About time somebody recognized my leadership skills” - Eddi
  • “These dirty tennis balls don’t taste like ducks” – Puma
  • “Man it’s cold in here, sure glad you brought my blanket” – Buster
  • “I notice that you have hearing protection, how about me” – Jazz
  • “We practiced and practiced passing and still can’t do it” – Merry
  • “I would be faster if I wasn’t handled by a speed bump” – Maggie
  • “Wow! These stats are fun, during the break I am contacting all the other teams to see if I can do theirs” – Jon
  • “Did you see Patty’s face when I jumped three feet in the air as she launched me” – Eddi
  • “The breakfast room is not available, we will have to party in the hallway” – Carolyn
  • “First nine inch then twelve inch hurdles, I wish the would make up their mind” – Dorothy
  • “Bend over, pickup ball, put in box, stand up at attention, bend over, pick up ball, etc, etc, etc, 268 times without a single mistake – put that in the stat book Jon” – Debbie
  • “A new Collie pup for agility and show. A new Border-Jack pup for fly ball. My life will be complete” – Eileen
  • “If they ever have a two heat tournament, I will participate” - Parker
  • “ The electronic lights were wrong, it was a good pass” – Jim
  • “Did you see me go down and get the ball and get back before Chuck knew I was gone” Pandy
  • “I heard ready, set, go. My leash was loose so I went to the course, waited for my turn, then went ran and got the next ball. I logged a great time. --WOW!!!  That redhead women official was really ticked” – Maggie
  • “If they all had a Cadillac they could keep up” – Ted
  • “Its my meeting and I will sleep if I want too” – Jackie
  • “I have never seen so many loud uncivilized Border Collies and Border Jacks all together at one time”. - Harmony           (I was relieved when you clarified the generalization by excluding Pandy and me)
  • “If Jim would allow me to prepare you for the race and give you a massage after the race you would probably always run in the lower 4’s” – Justin
  • “ I wonder if Shawn really had money in the pillow case he was carrying to his room” – Merry
  • “ We would run many races in 22 to 24 seconds however Dorothy, Carolyn and Merry would take 45 minutes to discuss in detail each race as we rode home Sunday” – Pandy
  • “I was very embarrassed when I had to run back to a spinning tennis ball on a string.  Dad just didn’t understand that I had decided to step up and go for my Fly Ball Champion Title.  I would have performed great without that darn spinning ball. And then, when he hit Jim with it I almost died from humiliation”  - Jazz
  • “I thought that they frowned on bodybuilders having tattoos” – Merry
  • “Was Carolyn really at hallway party wearing only her pajamas” – Chuck
  • “I am still depressed that Merry called me Bill” – Maggie
  • “The Ford and the Toyota must lack power on the hills as Chuck and Jim loaded all the heavy stuff in my Chevy for the trip home” – Ric
  • “Why was the tournament only two days” – Maggie
  • “I was very proud of our team during the races and especially of the fact that ALL THE DOGS CAME HOME WITH FLY BALL CHAMPION TITLESJackie

I am sure that I can speak for Eddi, Puma, Buster, Jazz, Pandy and myself and say that we all had a great time.

Sincerely

Maggie
